On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Full elections have three phases and an optional fourth phase (Primary):

  1. Question Collection
  2. Nomination
  3. Primary
  4. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

I am enjoying the Solana community very much and participate on a regular basis, and am one of top members by reputation.

Having managed teams for over 30 years, I think I have good experience in getting the best out of people, encouraging them to engage and keeping them on track, as well as keeping the (hopefully rare) unwanted folks at bay.

Jacob Creech

I work in Developer Relations at Solana Foundation and am passionate about improving the Solana StackExchange as a great tool for the Solana developer community.

As part of Developer Relations, moderating the Solana StackExchange has already become a daily task for me as I have helped throughout the private beta stage.

I helped move the Solana developer community to use the StackExchange via many different socials and have continued to encourage the community to utilize Solana StackExchange for any of their questions. I will continue to help answer and moderate questions, helping others improve both for their benefit and the future of Solana Development.

Brief Introduction

I'm a software engineer student currently finishing my last 2 years, I've been into blockchain for almost 4 years and Solana for the past year and a half. I've made a lot of friends, worked on multiple projects, made a lot of opensource tools, and hosted helpful Solana tools (vicyyn.com) and currently working with GooseFx team and building a lot of projects like chess, tictactoe, and other that I'll be releasing soon.

Why Vote for Me

I always loved helping other people in doing their tasks, I get a sensation of satisfaction when I hear or see a "Thank you!" knowing that I probably saved them a lot of time. I always want to create detailed answers that benefit the most people. And with those skills in mind, I've been building tools in Solana for more than a year now. I have a wide knowledge of most parts of Solana, and my reputation reinforces that. becoming a moderator will enable me to help others with more freedom and impact the community in a positive way, it will also motivate me to spend more time here knowing I was elected by you guys.
Thank you <3

"Programming isn't about what you know; it's about what you can figure out.” - Chris Pine

The Solana StackExchange provides the best medium for us to help each other figure things out.

I'm Colin from the Developer Relations team at Solana Foundation. My nomination for moderator is not predicated on me being a member of the DevRel team, it's based on my genuine interest and passion for the Solana developer community, unblocking and educating others and helping other engineers figure things out.

The Solana StackExchange will be an invaluable resource for new and old developers alike. I would love to be in a position to cultivate and nurture this platform into the resource that it should be.

Joe C

I'm Joe from the Developer Relations team at Solana Foundation.
I'm a backend/API Rust dev with a newfound love for NodeJS, and I'm a monster Solana tech fan.

I've created content to educate others on Rust, Solana, & Anchor development, and I live for helping people learn cool, new development tools & tactics.

I believe this site (The Solana Stack Exchange) is the perfect resource for all current devs in the Solana ecosystem, and even more important for those in the future.
Having an indexed resource with code snippets and constructive conversations/comments is more valuable than just about any other development resource across the internet.

I believe I can help moderate this community to curate the content we have and ensure the viability and relevance of this entire forum to the rest of the Solana (& even Web3) community.
Together we can help devs ask better questions - for their and other people's benefit - and get better answers for their own problems and the problems/questions of the future.

This election is over.
