Get the current price of sol in terms of USD

I want to get the current price of solana in terms of USD. Is there an API I can ping or something on chain I can call?

you can use Data Feeds On-Chain (Solana) from Chainlink.

assume you use anchor framework for developing solana programs, add this as dependecies to program folder/cargo.toml file:

chainlink_solana = "1.0.0"  

and the program look likes this:
